Andokides' Porch

When the people sat around on the porch and passed around the pictures of their thoughts for the others to look at and see, it was nice. The fact that the thought pictures were always crayon enlargements of life made it even nicer to listen to. -- Zora Neale Hurston

End of May, the perfect time to visit Chicago. School was out for me; the weather in Chicago is likely to be beautiful; Buckingham Fountain is back on for the season; my friend Arthur was able to offer the condo in Marina City he looks after; what's not to love? My friend Gregory and I went for a long weekend. It was Gregory's first real visit to the Windy City. Highlights of the trip included my famous walking tour of the architecture of Chicago's Loop, a long bike ride through the parks along the lakefront, a walk through Graceland Cemetery, a visit to the Green Mill Lounge, and plenty of wonderful food.
